Srilax was created by husband and wife duo, Isuru and Shana - a couple who share a love for tasteful design, good vibes and easy living. The pair converted the upper floor of Café Kumbuk into Srilax, a family-friendly, 5-bedroom bed and breakfast with a modern, minimal aesthetic that is inspired by Sri Lankan heritage. Located in the heart of the city yet perfectly tucked away from the hustle and bustle, Srilax offers a stylish and convenient place to stay.

Downstairs is Café Kumbuk, one of Colombo’s most loved cafes, with the same easy tropical vibe as Srilax. Co-owned by Shana and her mother, Dinali, Café Kumbuk offers a deliciously curated menu using locally sourced produce and spices, made fresh daily for you to enjoy.

" I was born in Australia, brought up in the UK and made the (very easy) decision to move back to Sri Lanka to pursue my dream of opening up Cafe Kumbuk. My background is in advertising with a strong focus on social media marketing and branding. A few years after opening Cafe Kumbuk, mum and I decided to open our sister cafe PLUS NINE FOUR - a coffee shop in collaboration with local coffee brand Soul Coffee. Srilax felt like the natural next move - from running cafes to our very first BnB. "

Isuru

" Having grown up in and around hotels (as my dad was a hotelier), creating my own accommodation business became a natural aspiration for me. I worked 10 years in the hospitality industry with both local and international brands. My background is in e commerce, sales and revenue. "
